Measurement Units in ancient India

Measurement System in Ancient India

the act or process of assigning numbers to phenomena according to a rule is the measurement. In ancient times also, measurement played a crucial role in describing sciences. Though the exactness of time measurement is needed to be reanalyzed as the analogy between second and paramanu is difficult to fit, though we firmly believe that the standards used in measurements were accurate and here at eanveshan, we are determined to prove. One interesting fact about ancient indian measurement, we observe here, is that, the measurement was also nature based like the one unit of time is blinking of eyes, which indeed a natural process, and hence again, it is proved that the ancient indian sciences was predominantly based on natural phenomena.

In this category, we are to discuss, elaborate and find accurate correspondense of ancient indian units with modern units. Please come with your experience about the units, and upon sufficient discussion, we will use those standards for the further research.

I watched this video form the "zietgiest", they speak about how the prophecies are made about entering another age and many such interesting facts stated in bible and older books, many of them match with the mention in ancient India's texts, which are older than bible and also match with the modern science. When we learn more about the observations recorded all over the world in history, not only in India, we find that there are many similar references made to same events. May be the whole world was one at a point.

It is interesting to know the ancient and classical divisions of time.
As for yugas you have stopped at one set of four yugas.
One set of four yugas make a manvantara. Fourteen manvantaras make one kalpa. Two Kalpas (a day and night) make a day of Brahma. We are in the second half of 'Swetha Varaha (White Pig)Kalpa. 100 days of Brahma will end a cycle of existence of Brahmanda. There is a Mahapralaya. Then for next 100 days there would not be any existence. Only Para-Brahma is. Then a new cycle starts.

The present cycle of existence the expanding phase has started roughly 2 Billion years back. This information is generally given in the Panchanga on the very first page.
Modern science agrees on the present cycle of existence
as 2 Billion years. They also now know that it is expanding phase. They suspect there could be a contracting phase.

This Panchanga is an informative document in this respect.
As the name suggest, it has five angas or organs.
The first Anga represents Brahmanda the first reality. The second, third and the fourth Anga represents the Pindanda the second reality, the year the ayana and the month. The last Anga represents the pindanda the third reality being the day to day living. An important detail not mentioned in Panchanga is that we breath 21,600 in a day. This figure is for Kali Yuga. As the meditative ability is more the figure gets progressively reduced in Dwapara, Treta and Satya Yugas. As the meditative abilities inrease progressively, so the ability to be CHOICELESSLY aware.
They are able to transcend the 1+10 dimensions with that much ease!

Brahma mentioned above and also mentioned in puranas is a name given to the four kinds of energies put together-
Electo-Magnetic, Gravity, Strong Nuclear and Weak Nuclear. They disintigrate at the end of Brahma's 100 days.
